Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for resigning from the ruling All Progressives Congress even as it expressed readiness to accept him back to the party.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Dayo Adeyeye disclosed this at a briefing on Friday.
Adeyeye says the PDP has in times past encouraged politicians who defected to APC to return due to the spate of political turmoil in the ruling party.
The PDP Spokesman at the briefing had earlier raised an alarm over plans by some political forces to hold a parallel convention same day that it is scheduled to hold its convention for the election of national officers on December nine.
